The governor stated that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to modern transport solutions. He added that improved infrastructure is key to supporting economic growth.
He also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the state and federal governments. The approval, he said, demonstrates continued support for Lagos’ development plans.

Stakeholders noted that the Green Line will complement existing rail projects in Lagos. It forms part of a broader strategy to create an integrated transport network.
The project is also expected to improve accessibility to the Lekki Free Trade Zone. This will enhance trade and investment opportunities within the region.
Officials emphasised that efficient transport systems are essential for urban development. The Green Line is designed to meet the needs of a growing population.
The initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to modernise Lagos’ infrastructure. It also supports long-term plans for sustainable urban mobility.
