Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, attended the Diocese of Lagos (Anglican Communion) Bishops and Wives Retreat held in Bariga, Lagos.

Eko Hot News reports that the retreat took place at the Archbishop Adebola and Mrs. Oluranti Ademowo Christian Resource Centre, popularly known as Faith Plaza, and brought together bishops, their spouses, and senior clergy from across the Diocese.

Governor Sanwo-Olu’s presence underscored the importance of faith-based institutions in promoting moral values, leadership development, and social stability within the State.

The Governor interacted warmly with church leaders, acknowledging the role of the Anglican Church in spiritual guidance, community development, and peaceful coexistence across Lagos.

He commended the Diocese of Lagos for organising the retreat, describing it as a platform for reflection, renewal, and strengthening family and leadership bonds within the church.

Sanwo-Olu reiterated his administration’s respect for religious institutions and their contributions to social harmony, youth mentorship, and humanitarian outreach in Lagos State.

The retreat focused on spiritual growth, leadership responsibility, and family support for church leaders, with sessions designed to strengthen unity and deepen commitment to service.

Church leaders at the event appreciated the Governor’s attendance, noting that it reflects the state government’s inclusive approach and recognition of the church’s role in societal development.

The Diocese of Lagos Anglican Communion continues to organise periodic retreats aimed at reinforcing faith, ethical leadership, and collective responsibility among its clergy and their families.
