The General Manager of the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA), Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, has met with the Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Cornelius Ojelabi, to discuss a strategic collaboration aimed at expanding residents’ registration across the state.
Eko Hot News reports that the meeting took place at the APC Secretariat on Acme Road, Ogba, and focused on leveraging the party’s ongoing electronic membership registration exercise to support wider residents’ data capture.
Both parties explored how the APC e-registration platform, currently open to party members, could also serve as an access point for eligible Lagos residents who are yet to be registered or validated on the LASRRA database.
The engagement emphasized the role of inclusive and accurate data in strengthening governance, planning, and effective service delivery across Lagos State.
Speaking at the meeting, Mrs. Adebiyi-Abiola explained that the proposed partnership aligns with LASRRA’s mandate to ensure that every resident of Lagos State is properly identified and captured in the state’s official identity system, irrespective of political affiliation.
She noted that taking registration closer to residents through existing and structured platforms would increase participation and improve the reach of the LASRRA initiative.
“This collaboration presents an opportunity to deepen residents’ participation by integrating registration into platforms that already engage large segments of the population,” she said.
In his remarks, APC Chairman Mr. Cornelius Ojelabi reaffirmed the party’s commitment to initiatives that promote good governance and inclusive development.
He added that the APC e-registration exercise provides a credible and organized platform that can support broader data-gathering efforts for the benefit of Lagos residents.
Both sides agreed to continue engagements toward operationalizing the partnership in line with state data protection standards and development goals.
