Springfield School Week Encourages Creative Education

Springfield Private School, located in Ekoro, Abule Egba, Lagos, has commenced its highly anticipated Springfield Private School Week, a week-long programme designed to promote holistic education through creative, engaging and value-driven activities beyond the traditional classroom

Eko Hot News reports the celebration, which began on Monday, July 6, 2026, brings together pupils, teachers, parents and members of the school community for educational and recreational activities aimed at developing learners intellectually, emotionally, socially and culturally.

The opening day featured Pyjamas Day, creating a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment for pupils. Learners arrived in colourful sleepwear and participated in storytelling sessions, educational games, bonding exercises and supervised rest periods.

School administrators explained that the activity was carefully designed to strengthen communication skills, encourage social interaction, improve emotional well-being and build confidence among pupils in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

The successful launch of the programme reflected the commitment of the Head Teacher, Mr. Adebayo Ayeni, alongside the teaching and non-teaching staff, who worked together to ensure every activity aligned with the school’s vision of delivering quality education.

Speaking on the significance of the event, the Director of Springfield Private School and Bosede Idehen International Academy, Mrs Idehen Ovabor, described the School Week as an important part of the institution’s educational philosophy.

According to her, learning extends beyond the classroom and should prepare children to become confident, disciplined, innovative and morally responsible individuals capable of succeeding in an ever-changing world.

She said the school is committed to nurturing problem solvers, critical thinkers and future leaders through an educational system that combines academic excellence with integrity, respect, leadership and strong moral values.

Mrs Ovabor added that Springfield Private School emphasises character development, encouraging learners to build confidence, respect others and uphold values that promote positive relationships within society.

Activities continued on the second day with Language and Culture Day, where pupils celebrated Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity by dressing in colourful traditional attire representing different ethnic backgrounds.

The cultural showcase promoted unity, national identity and appreciation for Nigeria’s heritage while allowing learners to experience the customs and traditions of various communities.

As an international institution, Springfield Private School continues to distinguish itself through a multilingual curriculum that exposes learners to four international languages alongside Yoruba, helping pupils develop global communication skills while preserving their cultural roots.

School management noted that the curriculum is designed to prepare learners for opportunities in an increasingly interconnected world without losing touch with their local identity and values.

Parents and guests who attended the activities praised the school for creating an environment where academic excellence is complemented by creativity, leadership development, cultural awareness and personal growth.

Many observers described the School Week as a practical demonstration of the institution’s commitment to holistic education, noting that the activities encourage learners to develop essential life skills beyond academics.

With more activities scheduled throughout the week, Springfield Private School said the programme will continue to provide pupils with opportunities to explore their talents, strengthen teamwork and build lasting values.

The institution reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality education that prepares learners to become responsible citizens and globally competitive leaders capable of making meaningful contributions to society.
