LSSTF, Globus Boost Security Capacity with 2026 Statewide Training in Lagos

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), in partnership with Globus Training and Advisory Limited, has continued its third edition of a two-day statewide training programme aimed at strengthening the capacity of security operatives across Lagos State.

Eko Hot News reports that the 2026 training, themed “Enhancing Professional Capacity, Ethical Standards and Inter-Agency Collaboration for Effective Security Operations,” brought together key stakeholders in the security sector to improve operational efficiency and coordination.

The programme is designed to deepen professionalism, promote ethical conduct, and enhance collaboration among security agencies operating within the state.

Representing the Executive Secretary/CEO of LSSTF, the Admin Director, Mr. Adegbola Lewis, delivered the welcome address at the event.

He emphasized the importance of synergy among security agencies, noting that effective communication and mutual understanding remain critical to maintaining peace and safeguarding communities across Lagos State.

Mr. Lewis further highlighted that modern security challenges require a unified approach, where agencies work seamlessly to deliver prompt and effective responses.

He reaffirmed LSSTF’s commitment to continuous capacity development programmes aimed at improving security outcomes across the state.

The first session of the training was facilitated by Dr. Diya Ololade O., a respected medical professional with expertise in health and wellness.

She delivered an insightful lecture focusing on mental health awareness and general physical well-being for security operatives.

Dr. Ololade stressed the importance of maintaining good health habits, mental resilience, and stress management in high-pressure security environments.

Her session underscored how physical and psychological fitness directly impacts performance and decision-making in the field.

Participants were also guided on early detection of stress-related issues and strategies to maintain overall wellness.

The second session was led by Professor Oka Obono, a Professor of Sociology at the University of Ibadan.

He delivered an engaging lecture on Emotional Intelligence and Financial Management for security personnel.

Professor Obono explained how emotional intelligence enhances interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, and effective leadership within security operations.

He also addressed financial literacy, encouraging operatives to adopt disciplined financial habits for personal stability and long-term wellbeing.

According to him, emotionally intelligent officers are better equipped to handle crisis situations and make balanced decisions under pressure.

The training programme reflects LSSTF’s ongoing efforts to improve the professionalism and efficiency of security operatives across Lagos State.
