U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers to the White House on July 23 in recognition of the club’s World Series success.

Eko Hot News reports that, according to reports, the visit will celebrate the Dodgers’ second consecutive World Series championship and continue the long-standing tradition of honouring championship-winning American sports teams at the White House.

A White House official said the visit is scheduled during the Dodgers’ off-day between a three-game series in Philadelphia and another against the New York Mets. The timing allows the team to participate without interrupting its regular season schedule.

White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said President Trump looks forward to welcoming the Dodgers back to celebrate their latest championship achievement. The statement reaffirmed the administration’s support for recognising excellence in sports.

The announcement brings an end to months of speculation over whether the defending champions would make the traditional visit. Earlier in the year, scheduling challenges prevented the team from arranging a White House appearance.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had previously indicated that the organisation intended to accept the presidential invitation in keeping with the tradition observed by many championship teams.

The Dodgers were unable to visit during their April series against the Washington Nationals because of scheduling conflicts. The July calendar later provided a suitable opportunity before the team resumes its East Coast road trip.

The club previously visited the White House in April 2025 after securing the 2024 World Series title. During that ceremony, President Trump congratulated the organisation and recognised several players for their contributions to the championship season.

Among those acknowledged was Shohei Ohtani, whose outstanding performances attracted widespread praise. President Trump commended Ohtani’s achievements and his growing profile within Major League Baseball.

Veteran pitcher Clayton Kershaw also spoke in support of the White House tradition. He said the opportunity to visit the White House and meet the president represents a unique moment that celebrates sporting excellence.

Kershaw noted that the tradition extends beyond political differences and reflects recognition of a team’s accomplishments on the field. His remarks echoed similar views expressed by athletes who have participated in past White House celebrations.

The Dodgers’ upcoming visit forms part of a broader pattern of championship teams being recognised during President Trump’s current term. The White House has continued inviting title-winning organisations from different professional sports leagues.

Reports have also indicated that the New York Knicks are expected to make a White House visit following their championship success after accepting an invitation from the president.

White House receptions for championship teams have remained a longstanding feature of American sporting culture. The tradition provides an opportunity to honour athletes, coaches and staff for their achievements during successful seasons.

While scheduling and other considerations have occasionally influenced participation, many teams continue to view the visits as an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments and recognise the significance of winning a national title.

The Dodgers’ scheduled appearance is expected to highlight another chapter in the longstanding relationship between American sports champions and the White House, reinforcing a tradition that continues to celebrate excellence, teamwork and achievement.
