Lagos Trains Public Service Officers

The Office of the Chief of Staff has organised a capacity-building programme for public officers on Grade Levels 08–12 as part of efforts to strengthen professionalism, accountability and service delivery across the Lagos State Public Service.

Eko Hot News reports that The training was designed to equip participants with practical knowledge on accountability, ownership, stress management and healthy living. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to building a productive and performance-driven workforce.

Speaking during the programme, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Chief of Staff, Semiu Kadri, encouraged participants to embrace continuous learning and professional development.

He urged the officers to apply the knowledge gained during the training to improve efficiency, strengthen teamwork and enhance the quality of public service delivery across their respective departments.

According to Mr. Kadri, continuous capacity development remains essential to building a responsive and accountable public service capable of meeting the evolving needs of Lagos residents.

Resource persons at the programme highlighted the importance of accountability, integrity and ownership in promoting excellence within the public sector. They noted that these values are fundamental to achieving sustainable development and effective governance.

Participants also received guidance on stress management and healthy living, with facilitators explaining that employee wellness contributes significantly to productivity, job satisfaction and organisational performance.

The programme featured practical sessions designed to strengthen leadership qualities, improve workplace ethics and encourage a culture of responsibility among public officers.

Officials noted that investing in human capital remains one of the most effective ways to improve institutional performance and ensure quality service delivery to citizens.
