The Lagos State Government has commenced disciplinary procedures following a viral video allegedly showing an officer of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps engaging in conduct that is inconsistent with the ethics and standards of the agency.
Eko Hot News reports that the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, described the alleged conduct as unacceptable, stating that it does not reflect the values, rules and professional expectations of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps.
According to the commissioner, the officer involved has been issued a formal query as the first step in the disciplinary process. He added that the matter will be investigated in line with established civil service procedures.
Dr. Wahab disclosed that a Personnel Management Board (PMB) will be constituted to conduct a thorough review of the allegations. The investigation will be guided by the provisions of the Lagos State Civil Service Rules and Regulations.
