Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed Lagos State’s readiness to attract and sustain foreign investment following high-level engagements at the Nigeria–UAE Investment Forum, Investopia Global Africa, held at the Eko Convention Centre.
Eko Hot News reports that the Governor met with the United Arab Emirates Minister of Investment, H.E. Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, as part of ongoing efforts to deepen economic cooperation between Nigeria and the UAE.
Discussions at the forum focused on practical investment opportunities, strategic partnerships, and avenues to drive sustainable economic growth between the two economies, with Lagos positioned as a prime destination.
Governor Sanwo-Olu stated that Lagos remains open to partnerships with both local and international investors, stressing that the state has continued to invest heavily in infrastructure while improving its business climate.
He noted that deliberate reforms to ease doing business, strengthen regulatory clarity, and enhance security have made Lagos a safer and more attractive environment for investment.
The Governor emphasised that achieving Lagos’ long-term growth vision requires partners who share its ambition for innovation, scalability, and inclusive development.
According to him, the engagement with UAE investors represents a significant step toward unlocking new investment flows that can translate into jobs, technology transfer, and economic expansion.
Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence that the conversations and commitments made at the forum would lead to tangible outcomes that positively impact Lagos’ economy.
The Nigeria–UAE Investment Forum brought together government officials, global investors, and private sector leaders to explore cross-border investment opportunities across key sectors.
