U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled a new commemorative United States passport design to mark America’s 250th anniversary, describing it as a symbol of the nation’s history and enduring legacy.

Eko Hot News reports that the limited-edition passport features President Trump’s portrait alongside patriotic artwork celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence. The design forms part of the wider America250 commemorative programme.

President Trump shared the new passport design on his Truth Social platform, referring to it as “The U.S.A.’s New Passport.” The commemorative document also carries the message, “Welcome, but be good!”

The redesigned passport includes a portrait of President Trump positioned over the text of the Declaration of Independence, together with his signature and additional patriotic imagery highlighting the nation’s founding.

According to the U.S. Department of State, the commemorative passport maintains all existing security features and remains a fully valid travel document despite its special anniversary design.

Officials explained that the passport is a limited-edition release created specifically to celebrate the United States’ 250th anniversary, also known as the Semiquincentennial.

The special passport is scheduled to become available beginning July 6, 2026, while supplies last. It will initially be issued through the Washington Passport Agency and selected commemorative passport events.

The State Department noted that applicants using online renewal services, mail applications, U.S. embassies, or other passport agencies will continue receiving the standard passport design.

The commemorative edition features custom artwork across several interior pages while retaining the same passport application process, eligibility requirements, and government fees as the standard passport.

The passport forms part of broader nationwide activities marking America’s 250th anniversary, with several commemorative programmes and national events planned throughout the anniversary year.

Supporters describe the passport as a unique collector’s item celebrating a historic national milestone, while public discussion has also emerged over its design and inclusion of the president’s portrait.

The State Department emphasised that the commemorative edition does not replace the regular U.S. passport and will be issued only in limited quantities during the anniversary celebrations.

The launch underscores the United States’ preparations for its 250th Independence anniversary, with government agencies introducing commemorative initiatives to honour the nation’s history while highlighting its future aspirations.
