The Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC), Mrs Temitope George, alongside other executive members and staff, has embarked on an inspection visit to the Commission’s divisional offices in Ikorodu and Amuwo-Odofin.
Eko Hot News reports that the inspection was carried out to assess the level of readiness of the offices ahead of their full operation as consumer-facing regulatory hubs serving the Ikorodu and Badagry divisions of Lagos State.
The visit was led by Mrs George, accompanied by Executive Members, Engr. Adekunle Olopade and Mr Olakunle Falola, as well as senior officials of the Commission.
According to LASERC, the divisional offices are structured to function as front-line centres for addressing electricity-related complaints and concerns from consumers within their respective divisions.
The offices will house key operational units, including Engineering, Consumer Affairs, Legal, and Administrative departments, to ensure prompt response to complaints and effective regulatory oversight.
Speaking during the inspection, Mrs George reiterated that the divisional offices are designed to improve accessibility for electricity consumers across Lagos State.

She explained that the centres will provide platforms for stakeholder meetings, complaint reception, dispute resolution, and mediation between electricity Distribution Companies (Discos) and consumers.
The LASERC CEO emphasised that bringing regulatory services closer to residents would enhance accountability and improve the overall quality of electricity service delivery.
She added that the initiative aligns with the Commission’s mandate to protect consumer interests while ensuring compliance with electricity regulations.

The inspection exercise also allowed the management team to evaluate infrastructure, staffing readiness, and operational processes ahead of public engagement.
LASERC noted that the opening of the divisional offices would strengthen its presence across Lagos and deepen consumer confidence in the electricity regulatory framework.
The visit underscores the Commission’s commitment to decentralised regulation, efficient dispute resolution, and improved service standards in the power sector.
