Christian pilgrims from Lagos State have arrived safely in Israel to commence the Holy Land phase of their 2025 pilgrimage exercise.
Eko Hot News reports that the pilgrims arrived at about 12:05 p.m. Israel time, marking a significant milestone in the spiritual journey organised by the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Upon arrival, the pilgrims formally entered the Promised Land through the Allenby Border, where prayers and thanksgiving were offered to God for journey mercies and a successful transition into Israel.
The pilgrimage tour continued to Jericho, one of the world’s oldest cities and a place of deep biblical significance. The pilgrims were guided through historical narratives associated with the city as documented in the Scriptures.

At Jericho, the pilgrims ascended the Mount of Temptation using a cable car, where they enjoyed panoramic views of the ancient city while engaging in moments of worship, reflection, and thanksgiving.
They were also shown a sycamore tree believed to represent the tree climbed by Zacchaeus in his quest to see Jesus, reinforcing biblical lessons of faith, humility, and spiritual pursuit.
During the tour, the guide introduced the pilgrims to the concept of “I Drink Tea (IDT),” encouraging them to remain informed about historical contexts, devoted in prayer, and thankful for the spiritual and cultural richness of Israel.

Along the journey, pilgrims received detailed explanations on notable landmarks, including the Judean Mountains, Samaria Mountain, Southern Galilee, the Jordan River, and the Dead Sea.
At each location, prayers were offered for personal renewal, Lagos State, and Nigeria, as pilgrims deepened their spiritual connection to the Holy Land.
The seamless coordination of movements and activities reflected the effective planning and welfare arrangements put in place for the pilgrims.
The visit marks the beginning of a spiritually enriching experience as the pilgrims continue their tour of sacred sites across Israel.
