The Lagos State Health District IV, Yaba, has celebrated exceptional healthcare workers for their dedication and service delivery across the district at an awards ceremony held at the Oluremi Tinubu Hall, Yaba LCDA Secretariat.
Eko Hot News reports that the event, themed “Award of Excellence in Healthcare Delivery System,” brought together senior health officials and staff from various Primary Health Centres (PHCs) to recognize commitment, professionalism, and improved healthcare outcomes.
In his address, the Permanent Secretary of Health District IV, Dr. Abimbola Bowale, commended Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for prioritizing excellence and rewarding outstanding performance within the health sector.
Dr. Bowale noted that the District recorded significant improvements in medical services during the year, attributing the progress to teamwork, staff dedication, enhanced infrastructure, continuous training, and improved service delivery.
He explained that this year’s awards introduced a new classification system, categorizing facilities into health posts, flagship centres, and comprehensive facilities, to ensure fair and balanced recognition compared to the previous single-award format.
Earlier, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mrs. Titilola Seriki, stated that the selection process was strictly merit-based, relying on verifiable performance data to ensure transparency and credibility.
She added that the awards were designed to motivate healthcare workers to improve performance and inspire others to strive for excellence in subsequent years.
Also speaking, the Director of Medical Services and Disease Control, Dr. Oludayo Shotunde, appreciated staff for their dedication to patient care and urged them to sustain productivity and compassion in service delivery.

Dr. Shotunde encouraged healthcare workers to remain energized in 2026 and continue putting smiles on the faces of patients across the district.
This year’s honors were presented in two categories: Outstanding Primary Healthcare Facilities and Committed Medical Personnel Award of the Year.
Ita-Faaji PHC, Ejire PHC, Sura PHC, and Femi Pedro PHC received Sustainability Awards for excellence in environmental services and medical waste management.
Quality Excellence Awards for outstanding patient care were presented to Anikontanmo PHC, Sura PHC, and Anjorin PHC.
