The Lagos State Resilience Office (LASRO) convened stakeholders at the 2025 End-Year Review Workshop to evaluate the Lagos Resilience Strategy (LRS) and chart future initiatives.
Eko Hot News reports that the event was held at Colossus Lagos, Ikeja, and brought together representatives from Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), development partners, and community leaders.
Dr Folayinka Dania, Lagos State Chief Resilience Officer, highlighted LASRO’s achievements in 2025, including the coordination of 31 priority resilience initiatives across MDAs, technical support, performance tracking, and mainstreaming resilience principles in government policies and projects.
She noted that the LRS, guided by three pillars and 10 goals, has made significant strides but requires further consolidation, stakeholder engagement, and innovative solutions.

The workshop also introduced the second edition of the Lagos Resilience Strategy, which incorporates lessons learned and addresses emerging challenges while leveraging new opportunities.
Participants engaged in interactive sessions to foster collaboration, share insights, and co-create solutions aimed at strengthening Lagos’ capacity to withstand shocks and adapt to stresses.

Dr Esther Thontteh from the University of Lagos noted the workshop empowers MDAs to actively participate in initiatives under development, enhancing internalisation and effective implementation.
Bisirihu Kabiru Olawale of LASEMA described the workshop as a scorecard for evaluating 2025 activities, providing checks and balances and motivating intensified efforts in managing city shocks.

Jubril Adeyemi Oshodi of LASTMA highlighted that the workshop allows agencies to examine inter-agency intersections, assess accomplishments, and plan effective execution strategies to ensure the Lagos Resilience Programme’s productivity.
Dr Dania concluded by appreciating Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his visionary leadership and unwavering support, which have been central to advancing resilience planning and building a sustainable Lagos for all residents.
