The Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment (MCCTI), Mrs Folashade Bada Ambrose, has called for stronger collaboration between the Ministry and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) to accelerate non-oil revenue growth through export promotion.

Eko Hot News reports that the Commissioner made the call while receiving the newly appointed Regional Coordinator of NEPC, Architect Benedict Itegbe, alongside his management team, during a courtesy visit to her office in Lagos.

Mrs Bada Ambrose emphasised the importance of strategic partnerships in unlocking Lagos State’s vast export potential, noting that collaboration with NEPC is critical to positioning the state as a leading hub for non-oil exports in Nigeria.

She reaffirmed the commitment of the Sanwo-Olu administration to developing efficient trade pipelines that will enable local businesses, especially Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), to access regional and global markets with ease.

According to the Commissioner, Lagos is well-positioned to leverage opportunities provided by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and other international trade frameworks to expand exports, attract foreign exchange, and stimulate inclusive economic growth.

She noted that empowering MSMEs to participate in international trade will not only boost revenue generation but also create jobs, strengthen local value chains, and enhance the competitiveness of Lagos-made products in global markets.

Mrs Bada Ambrose further stressed that sustained engagement with NEPC will help improve capacity building, market access, export readiness, and compliance with international trade standards for exporters in the state.
