Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has personally re-registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), lending his support to the party’s ongoing nationwide electronic membership registration and revalidation exercise.
Eko Hot News reports that the governor completed his re-registration on Tuesday at Ward E3, Premier Ward, Adeniji Adele, in Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Sanwo-Olu carried out the digital process at his home ward amid party leaders, supporters, and residents who gathered to witness the exercise.
Speaking on the significance of the visit, the governor described the moment as a reminder that politics is rooted in community and shared responsibility.
He noted that Lagos Island holds personal significance in his political journey and represents the collective effort required to drive development.
The governor urged existing APC members to revalidate their membership while encouraging eligible residents to formally join the party.

According to him, collective participation remains vital to sustaining progress and advancing the vision for Lagos State.
The APC e-registration exercise commenced on January 5 and is scheduled to run until January 30, 2026, across the country.
The initiative is aimed at building a verifiable digital membership database for the ruling party ahead of key internal activities.
Participants are required to present their National Identification Number (NIN), undergo biometric capture, and receive a temporary membership slip upon completion.
Lagos APC spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, described the exercise as compulsory, noting that it would eliminate duplication and strengthen internal democracy.
Governor Sanwo-Olu confirmed that early technical challenges had been resolved, adding that the process at his ward was smooth and efficient.

He disclosed that all 245 wards in Lagos State have been equipped with registration devices, printers, and backup power.
Similar e-registration activities have commenced in other states, including Kwara, Sokoto, and Kogi.
The APC maintains that the digital register will enhance transparency, ensure credible primaries, and strengthen party structures ahead of the 2027 elections.
