The Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, has charged the staff of the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment to uphold discipline, punctuality, teamwork, and dedication in order to enhance service delivery across Lagos State.
Eko Hot News reports that the charge was delivered during the inaugural First Work Day Thanksgiving Session held on Friday at the Ministry’s Conference Room, with staff in attendance.

Addressing officers, the Commissioner cautioned against lateness and idleness, stressing that public service requires a high level of discipline, commitment, and responsibility. He commended staff for their dedication and reminded them of the Ministry’s strategic mandate in driving wealth creation and employment.
Hon. Ajigbotafe noted that wealth creation and employment are critical to the dignity, stability, and future of Lagos residents, adding that every programme and service must focus on improving livelihoods, expanding job opportunities, and promoting inclusive economic growth.

He emphasised that public servants are entrusted with responsibilities that demand integrity and accountability, urging staff to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethical conduct, and teamwork in the discharge of their duties.
The Commissioner further encouraged collaboration across departments and units, stating that the Ministry’s mandate cannot be achieved in isolation. He highlighted the importance of open communication and mutual support as the Ministry strengthens existing programmes and introduces new initiatives in response to the economic realities of 2026.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Lolade Aina, expressed appreciation to staff for their hard work and commitment, calling for sustained collaboration, excellence, and unity in the workplace.
Mrs Aina assured officers that her leadership would continue to foster an enabling environment where staff can thrive, grow professionally, and be recognised for outstanding performance.
She urged staff to work harmoniously and remain committed to efficiency, accountability, and service excellence, noting that teamwork remains key to achieving organisational goals.
