Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has sworn in Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Obasa as the substantive Chairman of Agege Local Government, alongside Mrs. Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa as Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation.
Eko Hot News reports that the swearing-in ceremony followed the resignation of the former Agege Local Government Chairman, Hon. Tunde Azeez, who stepped down on health grounds.
Hon. Obasa had been serving in an acting capacity before his confirmation.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said the appointments reflect the state government’s commitment to continuity, stability, and effective governance at both the local government and civil service levels.

He stressed that public office in Lagos is anchored on service, accountability, and results that directly impact residents.
According to the governor, individuals appointed into leadership positions must demonstrate competence, dependability, and a clear commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the people.
He noted that trust and performance remain key considerations in appointments across the state.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized that leadership in Lagos, whether political or administrative, must align with the aspirations of the people and translate policies into measurable outcomes. He said the expectations of Lagosians demand diligence, transparency, and a strong work ethic from those entrusted with public responsibility.
Addressing the newly sworn-in officials, the governor reminded them that their offices come with significant responsibility and public scrutiny. He charged them to uphold integrity, work collaboratively, and deliver visible improvements within their respective mandates.

The governor further stated that the Lagos State Government will continue to uphold high standards in governance, warning that mediocrity and complacency will not be tolerated in public service.
The ceremony marked another step in the state’s effort to strengthen institutional leadership and ensure effective service delivery across all levels of government.
