The Lagos State Government, through Health District III, has reaffirmed its commitment to improving healthcare service delivery across Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in the district.
Eko Hot News reports that the Permanent Secretary of Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke, made this known during the distribution of medical equipment to PHCs serving Ibeju-Lekki, Eti-Osa, and Epe.
The event was held at the District Headquarters in Ikoyi as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen primary healthcare systems in Lagos State.
Dr. Adeleke said the initiative is aimed at ensuring that no resident is left behind in accessing quality healthcare services.
She noted that the distribution of equipment is part of efforts to bring healthcare delivery closer to communities across the district.
The equipment provided includes blood pressure monitors, patient monitors, Ambu bags, and first aid kits.
Officials explained that the tools are essential for monitoring patients’ vital signs and supporting emergency response at healthcare facilities.
Dr. Adeleke emphasized the importance of proper use and maintenance of the equipment by medical personnel.
She urged Medical Officers of Health to ensure that the equipment is not left idle but actively used to improve patient care.
According to her, effective utilisation of the equipment will increase trust and encourage greater use of PHC services by residents.

She also called on development partners and stakeholders to continue supporting government efforts in strengthening the health system.
Dr. Adeleke stated that the intervention is part of broader reforms aimed at improving healthcare access and service quality across Lagos.
She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that PHCs are well-equipped to handle basic and emergency healthcare needs.
The Permanent Secretary added that continuous investment in primary healthcare remains key to achieving better health outcomes in the state.
Responding, the Medical Officer of Health for Ikoyi-Obalende, Dr. Oyebanji Elegushi, expressed appreciation for the intervention.
He assured that the equipment would be properly utilized to improve service delivery at the healthcare centres.
Health officials say the initiative will strengthen frontline healthcare services across Ibeju-Lekki, Eti-Osa, and Epe.
