The newly appointed Supervising Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary of Education District III, Idowu Olufunke Oyetola, has officially assumed duty with a call for excellence, discipline, and integrity across schools in the district.
Eko Hot News reports that Dr. Oyetola gave the charge during her maiden strategic meeting with school principals at the district headquarters in Falomo.
During the meeting, she outlined her administration’s vision and reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to quality education delivery.
The Supervising TG/PS stressed the importance of maintaining strong academic standards ahead of the forthcoming West African Examinations Council examinations.
She noted that Education District III currently ranks second in Lagos State on the WAEC performance index.
According to her, schools within the district must sustain and surpass existing academic achievements.

Dr. Oyetola urged principals to intensify preparations for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination while ensuring compliance with examination guidelines.
She also reiterated a zero-tolerance stance on examination malpractice and warned that any violations would attract disciplinary measures.
The education administrator further directed schools to ensure that all eligible students are properly registered for the Basic Education Certificate Examination.
She explained that adequate preparation and compliance with state education policies remain essential for academic success.
Speaking on school administration, Dr. Oyetola described accurate data management as critical to effective planning and policy implementation.
She instructed schools to ensure prompt and accurate documentation of staff and student records in the state database.
The Supervising TG/PS also reminded officers approaching retirement to notify the district at least six months ahead.
According to her, early notification will support workforce planning and smooth processing of retirement documentation.
On co-curricular activities, she reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to holistic education and student development.

She directed all schools to actively participate in the 15 approved state competitions and provide adequate support for training and logistics.
Addressing health and safety matters, Dr. Oyetola warned that food vendors operating within school premises must comply with approved regulations.
She stated that principals would be held accountable for any violations recorded within their schools.
The education leader also encouraged staff members to keep their Ilera Eko health insurance plans active.
She further directed schools to intensify student enrollment into the state health scheme in line with the government’s Greater Lagos agenda.
