The Lagos State Government has conducted a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for applicants under its Graduate Internship Placement Programme (GIPP), reinforcing its focus on merit-driven youth empowerment and transparent recruitment processes.
Eko Hot News reports that the examination, organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, took place at the Public Service Staff Development Centre as part of the programme’s structured selection process.
A large number of qualified graduates participated in the CBT, which was conducted in a calm and well-coordinated environment. Officials ensured that the exercise adhered to standard procedures, allowing candidates to demonstrate their abilities under fair conditions.
Speaking on the process, the Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, commended the orderly conduct of participants. He noted that the smooth execution of the test reflects the government’s commitment to efficiency and professionalism.

Ajigbotafe reiterated that the Graduate Internship Placement Programme remains a key initiative designed to equip young graduates with practical workplace skills. He explained that the programme bridges the gap between academic knowledge and industry expectations.
According to him, the initiative plays a vital role in improving employability among youths in Lagos State.
By providing hands-on experience, the programme prepares participants for long-term career opportunities across various sectors.
The commissioner also disclosed that candidates who perform successfully in the CBT will advance to the next phase of the selection process.

He stressed that each stage is guided by transparency, fairness, and strict adherence to merit.
He further assured applicants that those who meet the required standards will be considered for placement under the programme. This, he said, underscores the government’s dedication to rewarding competence and hard work.
The Graduate Internship Placement Programme continues to stand as a major pillar in the state’s broader youth development strategy.

It aligns with ongoing efforts to promote economic growth by investing in human capital.
Observers note that initiatives like GIPP are essential in addressing unemployment challenges among young graduates. By creating structured pathways into the workforce, the Lagos State Government aims to build a more productive and skilled population.
