A Lagos State education official is currently participating in the Education World Forum 2026 in London, joining global leaders in discussions on the future of education and skills development.
Eko Hot News reports that Owolabi Falana, a permanent board member of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), is attending the global event as a full delegate alongside Nigeria’s education delegation.
The forum, held from May 17 to 20, is regarded as the world’s largest gathering of education and skills ministers from across different countries.
This year’s theme, “Educating for a shared future: Peace, planet, purpose and pathways,” focuses on global collaboration in advancing education systems.
Falana expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government for the opportunity to represent the state at the international forum.
He noted that the approval reflects the administration’s continued commitment to strengthening basic education and global engagement.
The Nigerian delegation is being led by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, who is coordinating engagements at the forum.

Falana said the platform provides an opportunity to learn from global best practices and bring valuable insights back to Lagos State.
