The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has partnered with Rentachefng to organise a six-day Hospitality and Skills Acquisition Training Programme for aspiring professionals in the tourism and hospitality sector.
Eko Hot News reports that the programme was designed to strengthen human capital development, support youth empowerment, and expand opportunities within Lagos State’s growing hospitality industry.
Officials said the initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s broader agenda of promoting entrepreneurship, job creation, and sustainable growth in tourism-related sectors.Hospitality Skills
Participants received hands-on training aimed at improving technical skills, business knowledge, and service delivery within the hospitality value chain.
Facilitators guided trainees through key areas including customer service excellence, food culture, culinary techniques, inventory management, and hospitality entrepreneurship.
Experts also trained participants on Nigerian cuisine, continental dishes, food sourcing, pricing strategies, and guest experience management.
The programme further covered business development topics such as market procurement, supply chain management, profit planning, and funding opportunities for small hospitality businesses.
Industry professionals who facilitated the sessions included Ms. Evelyn Ifeoma Idiji, Chef Hanifah Adenuga, Mr. Gbenga Akinsanya Babajide, Chef Joel Hugbo, and Chef Hurlarr Adeola Adesina.
Each facilitator provided practical insights tailored to modern hospitality standards and global culinary trends.
A special panel session featured the Chief Executive Officer of Rentachefng, Mrs. Abosede Sadiq, popularly known as Chef Bee, alongside Mrs. Vanessa Peter of Nexxa Kitchen.
Both speakers encouraged participants to build sustainable businesses by embracing innovation, resilience, and strategic planning within the hospitality sector.
They also highlighted emerging opportunities in Nigeria’s tourism and food industry and encouraged young entrepreneurs to take advantage of training platforms.
Participants expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture for the opportunity to gain industry-relevant skills.
