The Lagos State Public Service Accelerator Programme (PSAP) Cohort II has concluded its “Pass-It-On Week,” an initiative designed to promote knowledge sharing, innovation and improved administrative practices across government institutions.
Eko Hot News reports that the exercise, held from August 12 to 14, 2026, saw participants move beyond classroom learning to share skills and practical knowledge with personnel across various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The initiative was introduced to strengthen continuous learning and encourage collaboration within the Lagos State Public Service.
During the exercise, 10 participant groups visited different strategic institutions across the state.
The groups shared modern administrative approaches and specialised knowledge acquired during the early stages of the PSAP Cohort II programme.
The outreach covered different areas of public service delivery and governance.
Participants engaged with personnel working in environmental and infrastructure-related sectors, including the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and the Ministry of Works.
The programme also extended to areas connected with justice, regulation and other key aspects of public administration.
The field visits provided participants with an opportunity to apply lessons from the accelerator programme to practical workplace situations.
It also created a platform for government employees to exchange ideas and identify approaches that could improve service delivery.
The “Pass-It-On Week” was structured around the principle that knowledge gained through professional development should be shared across the wider public service.
By transferring their newly acquired skills to other government workers, the participants helped strengthen institutional capacity.
The initiative also encouraged collaboration between MDAs and promoted greater understanding of the different roles played by government institutions.
Programme organisers said the exercise demonstrated the importance of moving beyond theoretical learning.
They explained that practical knowledge sharing could help public servants respond more effectively to workplace challenges.
The field activities also allowed participants to interact directly with frontline personnel and understand operational realities across different institutions.
The PSAP Cohort II Accelerator actively monitored and participated in the field engagements.
This ensured that the activities remained aligned with the programme’s broader objective of developing a dynamic and forward-looking public service.
The monitoring process also provided an opportunity to assess how effectively participants translated their classroom experiences into practical engagement.
Organisers said the initiative reflected the Lagos State Government’s commitment to strengthening administrative excellence.
They noted that an effective public service depends not only on individual expertise but also on the ability of institutions to share knowledge and work together.
The programme therefore encouraged participants to become knowledge multipliers within the public service.
Rather than keeping newly acquired skills within individual groups, participants were encouraged to share useful approaches with colleagues across government.
This approach can contribute to stronger institutional memory and improved workplace practices.
The exercise also highlighted the importance of innovation in modern public administration.
As government institutions face changing demands, public servants require continuous opportunities to develop their skills and exchange ideas.
The PSAP initiative provides a structured platform for participants to gain such experience.
The “Pass-It-On Week” further demonstrated how professional development programmes can create wider benefits beyond their immediate participants.
Knowledge acquired by a selected group can reach other government workers through targeted sharing and practical engagement.
This can help create a broader culture of learning across the public service.
The participating groups also had the opportunity to understand the operational needs of different MDAs.
Such interactions can promote better coordination and reduce gaps between institutions involved in public service delivery.
The organisers expressed confidence that the lessons shared during the exercise would contribute to improved performance across participating institutions.
They also emphasised that continuous learning should remain an important part of public service development.
The successful completion of the week marked another stage in the development of PSAP Cohort II.
It reinforced the programme’s focus on practical learning, innovation, collaboration and institutional growth.
The Lagos State Public Service Accelerator Programme continues to provide participants with opportunities to develop modern administrative skills and apply them in real-world settings.
Through initiatives such as “Pass-It-On Week,” the programme is also helping to extend the benefits of professional development beyond individual participants.
The exercise ultimately underscored the value of knowledge sharing in building a more responsive and efficient public service.
The organisers reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that promote learning, collaboration and administrative excellence across Lagos State.
