Lagos State has hosted a high-level delegation from the Netherlands ahead of the upcoming investment summit, reinforcing international collaboration.
Eko Hot News reports that the delegation was led by the Consul-General, Michael Deelen. The visit focused on building partnerships with Invest International.
The Lagos State Government also received a coastal protection report. The report was presented by CDR International.
Welcoming the delegation, the Commissioner for Commerce, Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, described the summit as strategic.
She noted that the Invest in Lagos Summit 3.0 will hold from July 8 to 9, 2026. The venue is Eko Hotel and Suites.
According to her, the summit aims to position Lagos as Africa’s investment gateway. It will attract investors and showcase economic opportunities.
She reaffirmed the state’s commitment to building strong partnerships. These collaborations are expected to drive innovation and economic growth.
Ambrose-Medebem highlighted Lagos’ top ranking in ease of doing business. She said this reflects the government’s focus on creating a supportive business environment.
She added that the partnership with Invest International could lead to new opportunities. Plans are underway to formalise cooperation at the summit.
The Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Dayo Bush-Alebiosu, also spoke at the meeting.

He emphasised the importance of Lagos’ waterfront assets. These assets, he said, are key to investment and urban development.
Bush-Alebiosu noted ongoing infrastructure projects across coastal areas. He added that partnerships will enhance development in tourism and real estate.
He also welcomed the coastal protection report. The Ministry plans to review and present it to Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The report is expected to guide strategies for managing coastal challenges. These include flooding and erosion in vulnerable communities.
Michael Deelen said the visit aimed to strengthen cooperation. He also supported the presentation of feasibility studies on Lagos coastline.
He described Invest International as an impact-focused organisation. It provides financing options for sustainable development projects.
Deelen encouraged quick action on the report’s recommendations. He stressed the importance of timely implementation.
Regional Head of Invest International, Fenna Houkamp, highlighted key focus areas.

She noted that sectors such as agriculture, health, manufacturing, and infrastructure are priorities. Water and infrastructure account for a large share of funding.
Houkamp explained that the organisation offers flexible financing solutions. These include grants and loans for eligible projects.
Chairman of ADR, Dirk Heijboer, presented the coastal report. He outlined key environmental and development challenges.
He commended Lagos for addressing coastal issues. He also expressed readiness to support implementation efforts.
The summit is expected to bring together global stakeholders. Policymakers, investors, and business leaders will participate.
Activities will include panel sessions, exhibitions, and networking opportunities. These engagements aim to boost investment partnerships.
