The Lagos Ministry of Justice has rewarded outstanding officers for exemplary service while celebrating staff who retired meritoriously from the state’s public service.
Eko Hot News reports that the recognition took place during the Ministry’s 2025 Merit Awards and End-of-Year Ceremony held at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
The Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Lawal Pedro SAN, commended award recipients and staff for their dedication, professionalism, and consistent commitment to duty across the justice sector.

Pedro noted that the Ministry’s achievements in 2025 were driven by teamwork, collaboration, and effective leadership across departments, units, and agencies under the Ministry’s supervision.
He attributed the relative peace, safety, and orderliness in Lagos State to the diligence of prosecutors, legislative drafters, law officers, and other justice-sector stakeholders.
The Attorney-General urged staff to continuously assess their performance, address gaps, and strive for higher standards of excellence in the coming year.

He congratulated the award winners and encouraged them to sustain their commitment, stressing that excellence remains the benchmark for public service in Lagos State.
Pedro also paid tribute to retiring officers, describing their years of service as invaluable and noting that their contributions have strengthened the justice system.
In his remarks, the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Mr. Hameed Oyenuga, described the merit awards as a morale booster that promotes productivity and healthy competition among staff.
Oyenuga congratulated the recipients and encouraged them to increase their efforts, noting that dedication to duty attracts greater responsibility.
He also applauded the retirees for their dedication and lasting legacy of service to the Ministry and Lagos State.
Awards were presented in both senior and junior categories, with recipients drawn from various departments and agencies within the Lagos State Ministry of Justice.
