The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has rejected recent claims by the United States Central Command regarding vessel movements in the Strait of Hormuz.
Eko Hot News reports that US Central Command earlier stated that two US-flagged merchant vessels had successfully navigated through the Strait, a claim now disputed by Iranian authorities.
Iranian state media quoted the IRGC as saying that no commercial vessels or oil tankers had passed through the Strait in recent hours. The statement described the US position as inaccurate and misleading.
The IRGC also issued a caution regarding maritime activity in the area. It noted that any movements not aligned with its naval guidance could face operational challenges.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important shipping routes. It plays a key role in global energy supply and international trade.
Meanwhile, reports have emerged of an incident involving a South Korean cargo vessel. According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, a “suspected strike” occurred on a ship identified as HMM Namu.
The vessel was said to be anchored near the United Arab Emirates at the time of the incident. Officials confirmed that no casualties were recorded among the 24 crew members on board.
The ministry noted that the crew included six South Koreans and 18 foreign nationals. It added that an explosion was believed to have occurred in the engine room area.
Authorities are currently monitoring the situation. Investigations are expected to determine the exact cause of the incident.
Earlier reports from the UAE also indicated that a tanker linked to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) experienced a similar incident in the same region.
In a separate development, Iranian state media had reported that a US naval vessel was targeted while approaching the Strait. However, US officials have denied the claim.
Further clarification from the Iranian military indicated that its navy issued warnings to approaching vessels. It stated that precautionary signals were given to ensure compliance with maritime guidelines.

The Iranian military said the vessels were monitored after entering the area. It added that communication was established to highlight safety concerns.
According to the statement, warnings were issued regarding adherence to agreed maritime conditions. The navy emphasised the importance of maintaining order in the region.
The military also noted that vessels were advised on safe navigation practices. It stressed that all parties should respect established guidelines in the Strait.
Observers say the situation highlights ongoing sensitivities in the region. The Strait of Hormuz remains a focal point for global maritime activity.
Shipping stakeholders continue to monitor developments closely. The safety of vessels and crew members remains a priority.

Analysts note that clear communication is essential for preventing misunderstandings. They emphasise the need for cooperation among maritime operators.
Global attention remains on the Strait due to its economic importance. Any disruptions could have wider implications for international markets.
Authorities in affected regions are expected to provide updates as investigations continue. Maritime safety agencies are also reviewing the incidents.
The developments underscore the importance of maintaining stability in key shipping routes. Stakeholders continue to call for adherence to international maritime standards.
