The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials has donated relief materials worth ₦60 million to 11 orphanages across Lagos State.
Eko Hot News reports that the donation was led by the First Lady of Lagos State, Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu. The presentation took place at the Banquet Hall of the First Lady’s Office in Alausa, Ikeja.
The intervention included household items and financial support. It also featured cheques for education and healthcare needs of children.
The initiative marks the sixth edition of the programme. It reflects continued efforts to support vulnerable groups.
Dr. Sanwo-Olu described the project as a symbol of compassion and unity. She emphasised the importance of collective responsibility.

She noted that the programme began in 2020. Since then, over 70 orphanages have received support.
According to her, the scale of intervention has increased steadily. It has grown from ₦5.5 million in 2020 to ₦60 million in 2026.
She explained that beneficiaries were selected through a transparent process. A 33-member committee carried out the selection.
The committee represented the five IBILE divisions. These include Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos, and Epe.
Selections were based on needs assessments. This ensured fairness and maximum impact.
Items distributed included televisions and deep freezers. Other items were generators, fans, and washing machines.
Additional supplies included mattresses and food items. Toiletries and other essentials were also provided.

The First Lady said the donations were carefully planned. They were designed to improve living conditions in the homes.

Special recognition was given to Mrs. Azeezat Ibijoke Tijani. Mrs. Bukola Sarat Akinloye was also commended.
