The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has applauded astronauts of Artemis II mission for their historic journey around the Moon, describing their achievement as a defining moment in human space exploration.
Eko Hot News reports that Trump held a direct conversation with the four astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen while they were aboard the Orion spacecraft, commending their bravery and dedication to advancing global scientific progress.

During the conversation, the President praised the crew for setting a new milestone, noting that their mission surpassed the record previously held since the Apollo 13 mission. He emphasised that their journey represents a new era of exploration beyond Earth.
The astronauts, in response, shared insights into their experience, including the emotional impact of travelling to the far side of the Moon a region known for communication blackout due to its distance from Earth. The mission marks the first time humans have ventured this far into space in more than five decades.

Trump further expressed his desire to host the astronauts at the White House upon their return, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to advancing space exploration, including future missions to Mars.

The Artemis II mission, part of NASA’s broader Artemis programme, is seen as a crucial step toward returning humans to the Moon and laying the groundwork for deep space missions.
