The Lagos State Government has urged allottees of its housing estates to comply with established rules to ensure sustainable and orderly living environments.

Eko Hot News reports that the call was made during a stakeholders’ meeting and public enlightenment session held at Oba Adegboruwa Housing Estate in Igbogbo, Ikorodu.

The engagement was organised by the Ministry of Housing as part of its monthly outreach to residents of government-owned estates.

Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, delivered the message through the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Abdulhafiz Toriola.

He explained that the meeting aimed to gather feedback from residents and provide practical solutions to improve living conditions across estates.

The Commissioner noted that the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has continued to invest in upgrading infrastructure within state-owned housing estates.

He stressed that maintaining these improvements requires cooperation from allottees and adherence to estate regulations.

According to him, rules are essential in every society and must be followed to preserve order and ensure fairness among residents.

He added that residents should take responsibility for routine maintenance and address minor issues within their communities.

This, he said, would allow the government to focus on larger infrastructural challenges affecting the estates.

The Commissioner also highlighted the importance of ongoing dialogue between residents and the government to address emerging concerns.

He noted that feedback from such engagements has helped authorities identify and resolve key issues in various estates.

Residents were encouraged to take ownership of their environment and contribute actively to its upkeep.
