The LASRO LASEMA collaboration has taken centre stage as Lagos State intensifies efforts to strengthen emergency response capacity and ensure uninterrupted service delivery during crises.
Eko Hot News reports that the Lagos State Resilience Office held a strategic review session with the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, focusing on improving operational efficiency and sustaining critical services in times of disruption.
The engagement was led by the Lagos State Chief Resilience Officer, Folayinka Dania, represented by Olayinka Oyekan, alongside key officials of LASEMA.

At the core of the session was a comprehensive review of LASEMA’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP), aimed at strengthening the agency’s ability to maintain effective emergency response operations during and after unforeseen incidents.
Discussions highlighted the importance of minimising service disruptions, safeguarding lives and critical infrastructure, and ensuring swift recovery of operations in emergency situations.
The review also provided clarity on roles and responsibilities during crises, outlining actionable strategies to enhance coordination and response effectiveness across relevant agencies.
A major focus of the engagement was the need to deepen institutional resilience through improved operational frameworks, including LASEMA’s 24/7 emergency response system accessible via dedicated hotlines, 767 and 112.

Participants also explored the integration of advanced technology and improved information management systems to boost response speed and overall efficiency.
Constructive feedback was provided on the existing Business Continuity Plan, leading to updates that align with LASEMA’s evolving operational structure and current realities.

Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to implementing key recommendations from the session, aimed at strengthening preparedness, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring a more resilient Lagos State.
The collaboration underscores the government’s proactive approach to disaster management, positioning Lagos to respond more effectively to emergencies while protecting lives and property.
