Lagos State Health Management Agency has launched a statewide compliance assessment of all ILERA EKO-empanelled healthcare facilities. The initiative aims to reinforce standards under the Executive Order on Mandatory Health Insurance.
Eko Hot News reports that the assessment covers all public health facilities and selected high-volume private hospitals across Lagos. The evaluation focuses on readiness, operational efficiency, and adherence to ILERA EKO guidelines.
The exercise will help identify gaps in service delivery and improve healthcare standards for all enrollees. It is designed to ensure that facilities consistently provide quality healthcare in line with regulatory requirements.
LASHMA emphasised that the assessment supports Lagos State’s broader goal of achieving Universal Health Coverage. The initiative ensures residents can access care without financial hardship.

The evaluation also seeks to strengthen monitoring mechanisms across healthcare facilities. This will encourage continuous compliance and improve overall healthcare system efficiency.
By focusing on both public and private facilities, the exercise aims to create a comprehensive picture of service readiness and capacity. It will highlight areas for improvement and guide targeted interventions.
Healthcare providers are expected to align their operations with ILERA EKO standards. Compliance will help enhance patient experience, safety, and satisfaction across the state.

The initiative reflects Lagos State’s commitment to improving healthcare outcomes for all residents. It underscores the importance of accountability and quality assurance in the delivery of medical services.
The assessment is part of ongoing efforts to ensure that Universal Health Coverage objectives are met. By monitoring performance and enforcing standards, Lagos State aims to deliver equitable and high-quality care.
LASHMA plans to continue engaging healthcare facilities, providing guidance and support to meet regulatory requirements. The exercise is a proactive step toward a more robust, efficient, and patient-focused healthcare system in Lagos.
