Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has inspected the ongoing construction of the Multi-Agency Building and the Lagos State Geographical Information System Centre at Alausa in Ikeja.

Eko Hot News reports that the inspection visit formed part of the administration’s effort to monitor the progress of key infrastructure projects designed to improve public service delivery across the state.

During the inspection, the Governor was accompanied by the Lagos State Head of Service, Olabode Agoro, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works, Adekunle Olayinka.

The Multi-Agency Building is a major government project designed to centralise several state agencies within a single facility. The initiative is expected to reduce congestion around the Lagos State Secretariat complex in Alausa.

Officials explained that the building will provide modern office spaces and improved operational facilities for civil servants. The project also aims to enhance coordination among ministries, departments and agencies.

The facility is being developed with modern infrastructure to support efficient administrative operations. It is also designed to provide a comfortable working environment for government employees.

Alongside the Multi-Agency Building, the Lagos State Geographical Information System Centre is also under construction within the Alausa district. The project will support digital land administration and geospatial services in Lagos.

The LAGIS Centre is expected to serve as a central hub for services related to land records, mapping, and urban planning. It will provide residents, property owners and investors with improved access to land information services.

Government officials noted that the centre will enhance transparency and efficiency in land documentation and processing. The project is also expected to strengthen planning and development management across the state.

During the inspection tour, Governor Sanwo-Olu reviewed the progress of construction works and interacted with officials responsible for the projects. He emphasised the importance of delivering the projects within the planned timeline.

The Governor reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to infrastructure development that supports efficient governance. According to him, improved government facilities play a key role in strengthening service delivery for residents.

He added that creating modern administrative spaces for civil servants would improve productivity and enhance the experience of citizens accessing government services.

The inspection also highlighted the administration’s broader focus on strengthening institutional capacity through strategic infrastructure investment. Officials said such projects remain vital for Lagos State’s continued growth and development.

When completed, the Multi-Agency Building and the LAGIS Centre are expected to contribute to a more coordinated public service structure and improved access to land-related services for residents across Lagos State.
