Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has urged young people to become innovators and solution providers for societal growth.
Eko Hot News reports that Hamzat delivered the keynote address at the 2025/2026 IBILE Youth Leadership Seminar held at Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
He challenged participants to move beyond identifying problems and focus on practical solutions that will shape the future of Lagos.
The Deputy Governor called on youths to prepare, remain focused and unleash their dormant potential.
He encouraged them to embrace transformative leadership and ignore distractions that hinder progress.

Hamzat stressed that collaboration strengthens impact, advising participants to “see a need, build a team, start small and create a ripple.”
He said Lagos is investing in a technology-driven future guided by the SMART City vision.
According to him, resilience is being built across sectors to secure sustainable development.
Hamzat noted that about 60 per cent of Lagos State’s population are youths.
He described this demographic as both a great opportunity and a responsibility.

The Deputy Governor emphasised that leadership requires courage and initiative, not formal permission.
He described Lagos as a megalopolis and a hub of commerce, innovation and diversity.
Hamzat added that the city offers a unique environment for nurturing global leaders.
In his goodwill message, Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, reaffirmed government support for youth-focused initiatives.

He commended the IBILE Youth Academy for promoting civic responsibility and personal growth.
Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, praised the 2026 cohort for emerging through a competitive selection process.
He noted that since 2017, the Academy has grown into a strong platform for grooming young leaders.
Ogunlende reiterated that youth development remains central to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus Agenda.

Permanent Secretary, Pharm. (Mrs.) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, highlighted the role of the Alumni network in sustaining grassroots impact.
She urged the 50 Residential Boot Camp participants to sharpen their skills and return empowered.
The seminar brought together young leaders across Lagos’ five divisions to strengthen capacity and inspire innovation.
