The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has initiated strategic talks with the Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) to strengthen data collaboration involving private schools in Lagos.
Eko Hot News reports that the General Manager of LASRRA, Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to OEQA’s Director-General, Dr. Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa, to discuss integration of student data into the State’s residents’ database.
The meeting focused on leveraging OEQA’s database of registered private schools to facilitate student registration under LASRRA.
Officials said the partnership would enhance the accuracy and inclusiveness of the Lagos State Residents Database.
Adebiyi-Abiola stressed the importance of early registration for students and pupils across private schools.
She noted that inclusion in the residents’ database guarantees access to government services, social interventions and educational planning initiatives.
According to her, the collaboration would bridge existing gaps in capturing data from private school students.
She expressed optimism that LASRRA has the capacity to manage large-scale registration across private institutions.
The LASRRA boss described the initiative as a unique opportunity to streamline registration processes and reduce data deficiencies.
She added that improved data integration would strengthen planning and resource allocation across the state.
In response, OEQA leadership welcomed the proposal and pledged support for effective implementation.
Dr. Ogunmuyiwa reaffirmed OEQA’s mandate to ensure quality assurance, standardisation and regulatory compliance in private schools.
He assured that the agency would deepen collaboration with Ministries, Departments and Agencies, as well as external partners.
Both agencies agreed to establish a joint working team to design an implementation roadmap.
The framework will include sensitisation programmes for private school proprietors and structured data-sharing protocols.
Coordinated registration drives are also planned to ensure seamless onboarding of students into the LASRRA database.
The initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s digital transformation and data integration agenda.
LASRRA is responsible for issuing the Lagos State Residents Identification Number to residents.
OEQA oversees standards in public and private educational institutions to ensure quality education delivery statewide.
