LSFRS Hosts Osun Fire Service on Strategic Study Tour

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) recently hosted a delegation from the Osun State Fire Service for a three-day working visit aimed at enhancing emergency response and operational efficiency.

Eko Hot News reports that the visiting team, led by the representative of the Osun State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Surajudeen Olakunle, and Director of Osun State Fire Service, Ogunniran Toso Victor, was welcomed by LSFRS Controller General, Margaret Abimbola Adeseye, at the Service Headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja.

Adeseye, who also chairs the Association of State Fire Chiefs/Directors, emphasised that knowledge exchange among fire services is key to strengthening emergency response.

She highlighted LSFRS’ commitment to innovation, collaboration, and capacity building.

Alhaji Surajudeen Olakunle described LSFRS as a pacesetter in fire safety and commended its structured operational framework and professionalism.

Ogunniran Toso Victor noted that the visit was intended to understudy LSFRS’s best practices, training models, and operational strategies for application in Osun State.

The first day of the tour featured a comprehensive departmental and unit walkthrough at the Headquarters, allowing the delegation to observe internal operations and administrative procedures.

On the second day, the team visited multiple fire stations, including Ebute Elefun, Ilupeju, Isolo, Bolade, and Oniru, to study station management, equipment deployment, and emergency response protocols.

The third and final day included a visit to Ikeja Fire Station, which houses the LSFRS Training School.

Delegates were exposed to the Service’s training curriculum, modern firefighting techniques, and capacity development initiatives.

The study tour reinforced inter-agency collaboration, promoted knowledge sharing, and provided practical insights for improving service delivery, safeguarding lives, and protecting property and the environment.
