Animashaun Pledges Support to Immigration Service

The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah O. Animashaun, has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to supporting federal security agencies to strengthen community safety.

Eko Hot News reports that Animashaun gave the assurance while receiving the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Lagos State Command, Olofinbiyi Christopher, during a courtesy visit to the Council Secretariat.

Welcoming the delegation, the Chairman commended the Comptroller’s professionalism and leadership, noting the critical role of the Nigeria Immigration Service in safeguarding the division.

She pledged the council’s readiness to provide office accommodation, strengthen collaboration and support grassroots sensitisation initiatives to promote security awareness.

Animashaun stressed that synergy between local governments and federal security agencies remains vital in tackling emerging security challenges and maintaining peace.

In his remarks, Comptroller Olofinbiyi called for deeper collaboration to enhance the enforcement of immigration laws and improve the management of travel documents and residence permits.

He disclosed that sustained surveillance operations have curtailed illegal immigration within the division but appealed for additional logistical support, including office space and patrol vehicles.

The Comptroller was accompanied by Deputy Comptroller B.K. Danja and other senior officers of the Command.

Principal officials of Epe Local Government, including legislative and management leaders, attended the meeting.

Both parties expressed optimism that stronger cooperation would enhance internal security and protect residents across the Epe division.
