The Lagos State Government has provided financial relief to 170 residents under the Eko Cares Financial Assistance Programme. The support was delivered through the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement as part of ongoing social intervention efforts.
Eko Hot News reports that cheques were presented to the beneficiaries at a brief ceremony attended by government officials and community representatives. The initiative is aimed at easing financial burdens and improving the welfare of vulnerable residents across the state.
Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Office, Engr. Sholabomi Shasore conveyed the goodwill of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting all residents, regardless of background.
Shasore noted that the intervention aligns with the social welfare promises of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat. According to her, the administration remains focused on delivering tangible dividends of democracy to the people.
Before the cheque presentation, beneficiaries were sensitised on other Lagos State Government programmes designed to enhance socio-economic well-being. Officials encouraged them to take advantage of available empowerment and support initiatives.
