The Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) to expand funding and enterprise opportunities for women.
Eko Hot News reports that the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Bolaji Cecilia Dada, gave the assurance while receiving LSETF Executive Secretary, Mrs Feyisayo Alayande, during a courtesy visit.

Hon. Dada described the partnership as strategic and long overdue, noting that WAPA operates 19 Skills Acquisition Centres and the Women Development Centre with curricula developed by the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB).
She urged LSETF to align its capacity-building initiatives with WAPA’s training framework to prepare graduating students for funding requirements before completion of their programmes.

The Commissioner highlighted WAPA’s empowerment platforms targeting vulnerable groups and encouraged broader collaboration to deepen economic impact.
Mrs Alayande commended WAPA’s transparency and stressed the need for greater visibility of LSETF programmes among women trainees.

She disclosed that the LSETF application portal has reopened and advised applicants to obtain required documents, including LASRRA ID, LIRS Tax Identification Number, National Identification Number and Bank Verification Number.
The Executive Secretary proposed structured financial literacy and bookkeeping sessions to improve loan performance and sustainability for women entrepreneurs.

Both agencies agreed to organise sensitisation and financial education programmes across WAPA centres and collaborate ahead of International Women’s Day.

The strengthened partnership reflects Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to inclusive growth and financial independence for women in Lagos.
