The Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development (MWID) has been recognised by the Lagos State Government for excellence in creativity and innovation at the Ideas Day Innovation Competition.
Eko Hot News reports that this milestone marks the first time the Ministry has received an innovation award, sparking excitement and pride among its management and workforce.
The award certificate, presented by the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTCI), acknowledged MWID’s dedication to public service, innovative thinking, and impactful contributions to advancing creativity within the Lagos State Public Service.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Ministry, the Honourable Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Hon. Dayo Bush Alebiosu, expressed delight over the recognition and commended staff for their teamwork and commitment.
The Commissioner noted that the achievement reflects collective effort and reaffirmed the Ministry’s resolve to sustain innovation-driven service delivery in waterfront infrastructure development.
In addition to the state recognition, the Ministry also honoured seven outstanding staff members who distinguished themselves through exceptional performance and innovation during the outgoing year.
The awardees, drawn from both senior and junior cadres, were celebrated for professionalism, dedication, and meaningful contributions to the Ministry’s mandate.
Certificates of Recognition were presented by Hon. Alebiosu, who emphasised that excellence, innovation, and teamwork remain critical to delivering sustainable infrastructure across Lagos State.
He encouraged staff to continue embracing creativity in service delivery, assuring them that dedication and outstanding performance would always be acknowledged and rewarded.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Esv. Wasiu Adebayo Olayinka, urged staff to remain focused, committed, and proactive in discharging their responsibilities.
The event reaffirmed MWID’s alignment with the Lagos State Government’s broader vision of promoting innovation, efficiency, and institutional transformation within the public sector.
