Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has celebrated the seventh anniversary of his administration, expressing gratitude to residents for their unwavering support, trust, and partnership since assuming office.
Eko Hot News reports that the governor described the achievements recorded over the past seven years as the result of collective sacrifice, resilience, and collaboration between the government and the people of Lagos State.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu reflected on the administration’s journey and reaffirmed its commitment to building a Greater Lagos for all residents.
The governor noted that when his administration began seven years ago, it was guided by a clear vision to improve the quality of life of Lagosians through strategic investments and sustainable development initiatives.
According to him, the support and patience shown by residents have played a significant role in the successful implementation of key projects and programmes across different sectors of the state.
Sanwo-Olu highlighted major accomplishments in infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, education reforms, urban transportation, youth empowerment, and urban renewal projects spread across the five divisions of Lagos State.
He said the administration has continued to focus on delivering the objectives of the THEMES+ Agenda despite facing several challenges, including the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and other socio-economic pressures.
The governor maintained that his administration remained committed to ensuring continuity in governance and delivering projects that directly improve the welfare of residents.
He assured Lagosians that ongoing projects across various sectors would be completed while new initiatives aimed at improving living standards would also be introduced.
Sanwo-Olu stated that the government would intensify efforts toward providing quality road infrastructure, affordable housing, accessible healthcare services, improved educational opportunities, and a secure environment for residents and businesses.
The governor stressed that the administration would not relent in its efforts to make Lagos more competitive, livable, and economically vibrant.
He also called on residents to continue supporting government policies and programmes designed to promote sustainable growth and development across the state.
Sanwo-Olu urged private sector stakeholders and development partners to strengthen collaboration with the state government in order to accelerate the delivery of impactful projects and initiatives.
The governor acknowledged the role of President Bola Tinubu in supporting the growth and development of Lagos through the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to him, several achievements recorded by the state in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and empowerment have benefited from policies and support provided by the Federal Government.
Sanwo-Olu further noted that his administration had recently presented detailed accounts of its stewardship through a series of ministerial press briefings held over the past month.
He explained that the briefings provided Lagosians with comprehensive updates on government projects, programmes, and achievements recorded across different ministries and agencies.
The governor said transparency and accountability remain central to his administration’s governance approach, adding that residents deserve regular updates on how public resources are being utilized.
As part of the anniversary message, Sanwo-Olu extended appreciation to civil servants for their dedication and commitment to implementing government policies and programmes.
He also commended traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders, and residents for their contributions toward maintaining peace, stability, and development in Lagos State.
The governor equally acknowledged members, executives, and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their support and contributions to the administration’s successes over the years.
Sanwo-Olu concluded by expressing optimism about the future of Lagos, assuring residents that his government remains focused on delivering greater progress and expanding opportunities for all citizens.
He reiterated that the administration would continue to pursue people-centered policies and projects that strengthen the economy, improve public services, and enhance the overall quality of life for Lagosians.
