Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been inducted as an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, marking a significant milestone in his professional journey and engagement with Nigeria’s capital market.

Eko Hot News reports that the induction ceremony was held at Lagos House Marina on Tuesday, with attendance from members of the institute, the Lagos State Executive Council, permanent secretaries, and other senior government officials.

With the induction, the governor is now recognised as a Chartered Stockbroker and is entitled to use the professional designation “ACS.” The title reflects his expertise, credibility, and adherence to industry standards.

Speaking at the event, Sanwo-Olu described the honour as both a personal achievement and a reflection of growing collaboration between Lagos State and the financial sector. He noted that the partnership is vital for economic development.

He highlighted the role of the institute in maintaining standards within Nigeria’s capital market. According to him, the body remains central to training, certification, and regulation of industry professionals.

The governor emphasised the importance of integrity, investor protection, and inclusive participation in the market. He stated that expanding access to investment opportunities remains a priority for sustainable growth.

Sanwo-Olu added that his administration has focused on aligning public policies with the needs of a modern, investment-driven economy. He noted improvements in the ease of doing business within Lagos State.

He revealed that Lagos has moved to the top position nationally in ease of doing business rankings. This progress, he said, reflects deliberate reforms aimed at creating a business-friendly environment.

Earlier, Dada praised Sanwo-Olu’s professional accomplishments, noting his commitment to meeting the institute’s requirements. He described the governor as a disciplined professional with strong ethical standards.

He added that the governor successfully completed the institute’s rigorous examinations, which are recognised globally for their high standards. This achievement, he said, demonstrates technical competence and dedication.

Dada further noted that Sanwo-Olu’s conduct has earned the confidence of investors locally and internationally. He emphasised that such qualities are essential for strengthening trust in the capital market.
