The Women Development Centre (WDC), Agege, has reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to continuous capacity building as it commenced a three-day in-house training programme for staff.

Eko Hot News reports that the training, organised under the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, is being held from January 13th to 16th at the centre’s premises in Agege, targeting support staff, instructors and management personnel.

Speaking at the opening, the Director of WDC, Mrs Olufunke Adeleye-Segun, said the initiative aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s vision of building a competent, efficient and responsive public service.

She explained that annual in-house training remains a priority for the centre, covering all categories of workers, including cleaners, security personnel, gardeners, instructors and management staff.

She charged participants to embrace teamwork, professionalism and proactiveness as they prepare for the year’s activities.

Earlier, the training facilitator, Mr Olufemi Tinuoye, said the programme was designed to familiarise participants with Lagos State public and civil service operational standards.

He noted that the training focuses on civil service rules, regulations and the staff code of conduct to strengthen performance and accountability.
