President Donald Trump has announced plans to suspend immigration from all “Third World Countries,” a sweeping proposal that has stirred intense national and international reaction.
Eko Hot News reports that the declaration was made late Thursday on Trump’s Truth Social account, where the president stated he would “permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to recover fully.”

The Trump administration has adopted a sharply aggressive tone toward immigration rules, blaming “failed policies” for allowing the suspect into the country. The president’s latest statement signals a broader shift toward one of the most restrictive immigration stances in modern U.S. history.
However, Trump did not specify when the suspension would take effect, how it would be enforced, or which countries would be classified under the “Third World” designation. The White House has yet to issue further clarification.
Trump also vowed to “terminate” the immigration status of millions admitted during former President Joe Biden’s tenure and pledged to remove anyone he described as “not a net asset to the United States.” He further announced plans to end federal benefits for noncitizens and deport individuals deemed security threats or “non-compatible with Western Civilisation.”
In a separate move earlier Thursday, the administration revealed a “full-scale reexamination” of green cards issued to immigrants from 19 “countries of concern,” including Afghanistan, Haiti, Iran, Somalia, and Venezuela.
The declaration represents a significant shift in U.S. immigration policy, which is already provoking strong responses both domestically and internationally.
