Sanwo-Olu celebrates Kenny Odogwu moment took centre stage in Lagos as the state government honoured the outgoing Chairman of Royal Exchange Plc, Mr. Kenny Ezenwani Odogwu, for his impactful contributions to Nigeria’s financial services sector.
Eko Hot News reports that Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended Odogwu’s distinguished career, describing his legacy as a reflection of stability, integrity, and strategic leadership that strengthened institutional resilience within the industry.

The Governor, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Tajudeen Alao Mahmud, gave the commendation during a retirement ceremony held at the MUSON Centre in honour of Odogwu’s years of service.
Sanwo-Olu noted that Odogwu’s tenure as Chairman coincided with a critical phase in Nigeria’s insurance industry, marked by regulatory reforms such as recapitalisation and stricter solvency requirements. He added that Royal Exchange Plc’s stability during this period underscored disciplined leadership and a well-defined strategic direction.
“Mr. Odogwu, your career reminds us that true leadership is measured not by noise, but by impact and by the strength of the institutions left behind,” the Governor stated.
He emphasised the importance of responsible corporate governance in sustaining investor confidence and maintaining institutional credibility, especially during periods of economic uncertainty.

The Governor also highlighted the role of financial institutions in promoting financial inclusion, strengthening risk management practices, and supporting sustainable economic growth, noting that Odogwu’s professional journey serves as a model for emerging leaders.
Sanwo-Olu congratulated the retiring chairman on his achievements and wished him continued success, good health, and fulfilment in retirement.
