The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has unveiled a new toll-free short-code hotline, 3367, aimed at improving emergency response, traffic management, and public participation across Lagos State.

Eko Hot News reports that the new platform replaces the agency’s former long-service code and provides a simpler, more accessible way for residents to report traffic-related incidents.

The 3367 hotline is available free of charge to subscribers on MTN, Glo, and Etisalat (T2) networks, allowing millions of Lagos residents to contact LASTMA without financial cost.

Road users can use the hotline to report vehicle breakdowns, traffic collisions, disabled trucks, stranded tankers, road obstructions, and other emergencies requiring urgent attention.

LASTMA said the platform will also enable members of the public to report the conduct and professionalism of traffic officers, strengthening transparency and accountability within the agency.

To encourage wider participation, callers can communicate with operators in English, Yoruba, or Pidgin English, helping to remove language barriers during emergency reporting.

LASTMA General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the initiative as a major step toward building a more responsive and technology-driven traffic management system.

According to him, the hotline reflects the agency’s commitment to using digital innovation to address transportation challenges and improve collaboration with the motoring public.

“The inauguration of the 3367 Toll-Free Short-Code Hotline represents another monumental stride towards institutionalising a safer, more efficient and highly responsive transportation ecosystem across Lagos State,” Bakare-Oki said.

He noted that the rapid growth of Lagos as a major African megacity requires a proactive traffic management system capable of responding quickly to evolving road challenges.

The General Manager assured residents that all reports received through the hotline will be handled with professionalism, confidentiality, and diligence before being forwarded to the appropriate operational units for immediate action.

He urged Lagos residents to embrace the 3367 hotline as an important tool for improving road safety, strengthening accountability, and supporting a more efficient transportation environment.

Transportation stakeholders say the new hotline could significantly enhance communication between traffic authorities and road users, leading to faster incident reporting and quicker intervention.

With the launch of 3367, LASTMA aims to create a more connected, responsive, and citizen-friendly traffic management system that supports safer roads and smoother mobility across Lagos State.
