The Lagos State Government has released a traffic management plan for Phase I reconstruction of Ogunnusi Road in Ikeja Local Government Area.
Eko Hot News reports that the plan will enable the Federal Ministry of Works to commence expansion works from Ojodu-Berger Bus-Stop to Mobil Filling Station Junction (Ijaye/Agege bound).
The project is part of a broader upgrade of the 9.0-kilometre dual carriage corridor.
The reconstruction spans both inbound and outbound lanes between Ojodu-Berger and Mobil Junction.
The entire project, covering Phases I and II, will run from March 6, 2026 to January 6, 2028.
Phase I will cover a 4.5-kilometre stretch inward from Ojodu-Berger to Mobil Junction.
This phase is scheduled for completion by February 6, 2027.
Authorities stated that there will be no vehicular access within the designated work zone.
Motorists heading inward Ijaye/Agege through Ogunnusi Road will be diverted.
They will use a contraflow on the Ojodu-Berger bound carriageway for about one kilometre.
Afterward, they will regain access to the main carriageway.
Alternatively, drivers may use Dr. Nurudeen Olowopopo Way.
The route connects Otunba Jobifele Way to Obafemi Awolowo Way.
Motorists can then link Lateef Jakande Road to reach their destinations.

Articulated truck drivers from Lagos-Ibadan Expressway heading to Agege have been advised to divert.
They are to pass through Ojota and Maryland.
The route continues via Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way to Kodesoh Street.
Drivers will then connect Oba Akran Avenue to Guinness Roundabout.
From there, they can link Ogba Road to Pen Cinema.
Motorists travelling from Ijaye/Agege toward Ojodu-Berger will experience through traffic.
However, near the work zone, they will join a contraflow for about one kilometre.
Full access will resume after the construction stretch.
Emergency tow vehicles will be stationed along the corridor.
Officials said this will ensure swift response to breakdowns.
Motorists have been urged to exercise patience and obey traffic signage.
The government noted that the temporary measures are necessary for safe execution of the project.
Authorities assured residents that the reconstruction will enhance travel experience upon completion.
