The Lagos State Government has commenced a three-day capacity-building workshop to strengthen audit documentation and accountability across its Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
Eko Hot News reports that the training, themed “Audit Documentation Excellence: Ensuring Accuracy, Traceability & Professional Integrity,” is being held at Cordia Hotel.

The Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on Internal Audit, Dr. (Mrs.) Oyeyemi Ayoola declared the workshop open, describing the theme as timely and critical to effective risk management and compliance.
Ayoola stressed that internal audit reports remain the primary reference point for external auditors and are vital to annual audit evaluations.

Permanent Secretary, Office of Internal Audit, Mrs Monsurat Titilope Alaka, said the training is designed to improve the quality, accuracy and integrity of audit documentation within the public service.

She explained that the initiative fulfils commitments made at the December 2025 General Meeting, where structured and continuous professional development was prioritised.
Alaka noted that proper documentation provides verifiable evidence to support audit findings and strengthens transparency and credibility in governance.

She urged participants to uphold professional integrity and cascade the knowledge gained to colleagues across MDAs to ensure uniform standards.
Consultant for the programme, Dr Olusola Olowoyeye of Arkounting Professional Services, emphasised digital skills as essential to modern auditing and value-for-money assurance.
Participants commended the state government for investing in their professional growth, describing the workshop as impactful and practical.
