LSPC Hosts Maiden Inter-Faith Lecture to Promote Peace and Unity

 The Lagos State Printing Corporation (LSPC) held its first-ever Inter-Faith Lecture at the LSPC Hall to foster unity, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect among staff and the wider society.

Eko Hot News reports that Themed “Religion as a Force for Peace, Not Division,” the event attracted religious leaders, management, and staff members. It aimed to strengthen understanding and harmony across different faiths within the workplace and community.

In his welcome address, the General Manager, Hon. Kolawole Peregrino, described the lecture as historic and timely. He emphasised that religion teaches love, compassion, discipline, and respect for humanity.

He highlighted the current period where Muslims and Christians observe their respective fasts simultaneously, calling it a reflection of shared values and unity among Nigerians. “At LSPC, our diversity is a strength,” he added.

The lecture featured presentations by respected religious leaders, including Imam Ibrahim Olorungbebe of the Lagos State Secretariat Mosque and Pastor (Dr.) Hunsu Oluremi, Chairman of the Governing Council, Lagos State Government Chapel of Christ the Light, and President of the Lagos State Public Service Christian Fellowship.

Other attendees included Rev. Bukola Adeleke, Special Adviser to the Governor on Christian Matters, and chaplains Rev. (Dr.) Oladele Ajayi and Rev. (Dr.) Olurotimi Taiwo. Speakers underscored the role of religion in promoting peace, moral guidance, and societal development while discouraging division and intolerance.

Participants engaged in interactive question-and-answer sessions, enhancing dialogue and understanding between different faith groups.

The programme concluded with prayers and a vote of thanks delivered by the Corporation Secretary, Ms. Anike Fashola, who expressed gratitude to all participants and speakers for making the event successful.

Officials said the lecture will become an annual event aimed at deepening interfaith dialogue and collaboration across religious groups.
