The 2026 World Consumer Rights Day was celebrated in grand style in Lagos, bringing together key stakeholders to promote consumer protection and product safety.
Eko Hot News reports that the event, organised by the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), was held on March 17, 2026, at the Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja, with the theme “Safe Products, Confident Consumers.”

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, was represented by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, who reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting residents from unsafe products and unethical business practices.
Government officials at the event emphasised ongoing efforts to strengthen regulatory frameworks and ensure that businesses adhere to safety standards that protect consumers.

The World Consumer Rights Day Lagos 2026 celebration featured panel discussions, exhibitions, and interactive sessions focused on consumer education, product safety, and responsible business conduct.
Participants also explored strategies to enhance transparency in the marketplace and improve trust between consumers and service providers.

The event provided a platform for networking, media engagement, and collaboration among stakeholders, including industry leaders, consumer advocates, and regulatory agencies.
